Whiffs & Whisks: Thai Scents and Sweets

This cultural workshop offers international students the chance to experience "Thainess" through two everyday senses — smell and taste — which serve as gateways to a deeper understanding of Thai life.

On the "Whisks" (Taste) side, participants will learn how to make popular Thai desserts presented in a modern style. These include mango sticky rice and look choup (Thai mung bean sweets) where participants can customize the colors and shapes of their creations. This activity not only reveals the delicacy of Thai culinary culture but also emphasizes participation, fun, and creative interpretation of tradition.

On the "Whiffs" (Smell) side, participants will find their "perfect scent" through a short personality matching game with Thai herbal ingredients such as camphor or borneol. They will then create their own personalized herbal inhaler.

Though different in form, both activities offer meaningful ways to experience Thai culture—blending tradition with creativity, and encouraging personal expression through the senses.

The Spirit of Thailand: Muay Thai & Thai Massage

A cultural workshop designed to introduce international students to two of Thailand’s most iconic and interconnected traditions—Muay Thai and Traditional Thai Massage. While Muay Thai reflects the strength, discipline, and resilience of Thai martial heritage through dynamic physical movements known as the “art of eight limbs,” Thai Massage represents the healing and meditative side of Thai culture, focusing on energy balance, body awareness, and holistic well-being. Despite their differing forms, both practices are rooted in the same cultural philosophy that values harmony between body, mind, and spirit. Participants will choose one discipline to explore through hands-on experience, gaining insight into how these traditional arts continue to shape Thai identity and offer timeless lessons in mindfulness, health, and cultural wisdom.
