Campaign and Policy Discussion

Panel Discussion
& Policy Design Workshop
Despite being a cornerstone of public health systems worldwide, National Lists of Essential Medicines (NLEMs) often struggle to keep pace with rapidly evolving health needs, particularly with regard to new and emerging diseases, orphan drugs, and innovations not yet included in national formularies.
Patent protection and intellectual property regimes can further compound these access challenges, especially for low- and middle-income countries, creating structural inequities in both affordability and timely access.
This session aims to bring together pharmacy students and health professionals from different fields for an in-depth discussion and co-creation of policy responses to bridge the gaps between essential medicine lists, patent systems, and universal health coverage (UHC). The program will combine a high-level panel discussion with an interactive policy design workshop, facilitating evidence-based dialogue and collaborative problem-solving.

The Secret of Rattanakosindra
This engaging activity for pharmacy students is designed to promote participation in a health campaign aligned with the policies of the World Health Organization (WHO), presented under the theme "The Secret of Rattanakosindra."
During the event, participating teams will undertake various health-related missions to accumulate points. The team that collects the most points by completing all stations, along with a final puzzle mission required for everyone, will be declared the winner.
Furthermore, at the conclusion of the activity, participants will have the opportunity to explore Bangkok's prominent and famous landmarks, renowned for their beauty and significance. This experience aims to provide a comprehensive immersion into the cultural heritage of Bangkok.
